Auckland in February

Prompt: Write a story or poem about February.

Sail boats pepper the harbour,
ripples of water glinting
as shards of bright summer sun
reflect like a cascade of diamonds
scattered from a smuggler's purse.

Long tanned legs stroll the sidewalk
in short skirts and jandals,
frosted bottles of icy cool soft drink
clutched in sweaty hands.
