Just been to A&E with Caitie.

Woke up at 4:30am to hear her coughing away. She would wheeze in, then cough out. Nearly every breath. So off we toddled to A&E.

So she has croup, which is apparently rare after the ages of 7-8. The fact that she has it at 11 might mean she'll always be susceptible to it. Yay. Not.

No medication, just home to bed. She was off school Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday with what we thought was a bad cold (temperatures, runny nose, etc) but in retrospect was the beginning of croup. That explains why no one else has the runny nose or anything. Not a cold, but croup.

So tired now. It's just gone 6am and that's when my alarm normally goes off. I should go and have a shower, but Smudge is purring away on my lap and frankly I'm too comfortable to move (I'm in the lazy boy armchair downstairs). But I should get up. Steve will stay home with her today so I'll be going to work. Will be a long day. I'm tired just thinking about it.
